Trauma-Focused Therapy
If you’re in search of healing from a traumatic past, trauma therapy may be for you. Traumatic experiences can affect our beliefs about safety, therefore an important part of trauma therapy is focused around re-establishing what it means to feel safe in the world. This can include attention to strategies that help you to manage distress and feel grounded in your body, as well as tools to navigate trust in other relationships and environments. Trauma-focused therapy also prioritizes empowerment through processing of emotions, reconstructing memories, and reclaiming important parts of your identity.
Particular areas of expertise include: survivors of complex trauma, sexual violence, interpersonal trauma, and childhood trauma, as well as supporting adult children of invalidating caregiving environments.
